AIPTAC Success Story: Communication Specialties, Inc., Provides Leadership Support During Recent Denver Indian Biz Expo

The National Center’s American Indian Procurement Technical Assistance Center (AIPTAC) received the following success story from client Debora Hood, CEO of Communication Specialties, Inc.

As an active AIPTAC client, my Native American, woman-owned company, Communication Specialties, Inc., was asked to participate in the recent Indian Biz Expo, hosted by the Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce and the Denver office of AIPTAC, on April 9.

I was delighted to do so!

Because my company specializes in leadership and management development for businesses, organizations and agencies, I offered a presentation entitled, “Leading Through Change; How to Ensure Your Business Survives in a #Hashtag World.” The seminar focused on the challenges for leaders to remain positive and proactive, in a time when communication and information — as well as misinformation — travels at the speed of Social Media.

Information was provided on how to:
– Empower people
– Increase productivity
– Reduce costs
– Raise profitability
– Bring goals together in the context of Native cultures

Solutions to these challenges were offered, based on my proprietary Hireometry(tm) model, which focuses on the five key building blocks for a successful workplace, including Productivity, Time Management, Priorities, Communication and Collaboration.

As a special gift, participants were invited to take, at no cost, a workplace assessment, including a complete report and one-to-one consult — a $197 value. I received several inquiries about the assessment, and I am continuing to follow up with seminar participants who asked for more information, or to take advantage of the gift offer.

As a direct result of the seminar, I have been asked to provide a leadership development workshop for the managers of the Denver Indian Health and Family Services Resource Center. This took place on June 11, 2018.

The experience of participating in the Indian Biz Expo was a very positive — and profitable — one! I am very glad for the support of the Denver AIPTAC office, and have really appreciated having direct access to such wonderful information, suggestions and opportunities.

Respectfully, Debora Hood CEO Communication Specialties, Inc.
