The National Center Mourns the Loss of longtime Board Member, Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr.

Chris James, President and CEO of The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, released the following statement on the passing of National Center Board Member and Chairman of the Indian Gaming Association, Ernie Stevens, Jr.:

“The entire team at The National Center mourns the loss of our longtime Board Member Ernie Stevens, Jr. Chairman Stevens was a tireless advocate for tribal sovereignty and economic development. I will miss his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to our organization and always doing what’s best for Indian Country. Simply put, Chairman Stevens is irreplaceable.

“We send our condolences to Cheryl, his children and grandchildren, and the countless people whose lives were made better by Chairman Stevens’s leadership.”
