Chris James, President and CEO of The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, made the following statement regarding the federal funding pause announced by the Office of Management and Budget:
“Like countless other organizations across Indian Country and the United States, The National Center is concerned by the announced pause in federal grants and loans. For decades, our federal partners have been vital to the work we do to uplift small businesses and entrepreneurs and boost tribal economies. We anticipate that will be the case in the years ahead. The National Center is working closely with partner organizations to ensure the pause is indeed temporary and does no further harm to the people, tribes, and businesses we support.”
