40 Under 40 Class of 2023

[Voice of Daryl Redleaf Fielder, Three Affiliated Tribes, RES TV Host]

00:00:00:00 - 00:00:22:04: I don't know about you, but if we are all here to empower future generations. I feel the future is in great hands. What an amazing group of emerging leaders.

[Voice of Shannon Barnett, Cultural Academy Specialist]

00:00:26:02 - 00:00:31:18: To be selected as a 40 Under 40 awardee was just, it's hard to put into words. It was just so unbelievable.

[Voice of Kenneth Davis, Tribal Resource Specialist]

00:00:34:09 - 00:00:38:05: And I never thought I would ever receive an award like this in my lifetime.

[Voice of Quannah Chasinghorse, Model, Actress, and Land Protector]

00:00:40:22 - 00:00:52:08: You think about who's sitting at the table and how they make decisions, and usually there's a lack of representation. There's usually not an Indigenous voice in those spaces, let alone a young Indigenous voice.

[Voice of Caleb Dunlap, Amazon Program Manager, Brand Protection]

00:00:54:22 - 00:01:08:21: It's so important that we feel seen and heard across the board, so that the young people can step into every space feeling confident, owning their space, empowering much more than just for ourselves.

00:01:09:24 - 00:01:19:08: Really, it encompasses much more than we are. It's really doing the work now. That's going to continue to set the path for those that are coming after us.

[Voice of Dr. Buu Nygren, Navajo Nation President]

00:01:21:02 - 00:01:43:23: As a young tribal member in the Navajo Nation, I always remembered to look up to our leaders. It's important that we continue to advocate and be champions, because you never know one of your kids who feels like they can't be a leader. It’s totally possible, as long as we always continue to remember where we come from, who we represent. I'm representing my community.

[Voice of Isabel Yasana Hawley, Nike, Consumer, Direct Value Brand Manager]

00:01:44:07 - 00:01:48:08: I'm representing all of us, and I think that's what is so special to me about this award.

[Voice of Quannah Chasinghorse, Model, Actress, and Land Protector]

00:02:09:22 - 00:02:19:24: Me and my mom started an organization called Native Youth Outdoors. Being able to connect native youth with the resources and tools to be able to get outside to reconnect.

[Voice of Kenneth Davis, Tribal Resource Specialist]

00:02:25:19 - 00:02:32:18: I have a tremendous amount of experience working with North Dakota tribes. Now I get to use that experience to help better my tribe.

[Voice of various 40 Under 40 awardees]

00:02:35:20 - 00:03:02:13: We just love providing services and educational opportunities to all native students. I'm also proud to say I teach Muskogee language. I think Amazon, being an innovative global business, can partner across Indian country to enhance what we're already doing really well. That's providing for our communities, and I think Amazon can be a big part of that. I absolutely believe it.

00:03:02:15 - 00:03:25:12: I get to focus on bringing purpose and community to life across our fleet of over 185 plus stores. It started with N7 which is the native initiative within Nike. It's our brand. It's our community's brand. It gives back through the Nike N7 fund representation, visibility and helping shape the indigenous culture inside of Nike, which is really important because we have over 70,000 plus employees.
